Today is the World Hemophilia Day. This year, the World Federation of Hemophilia focuses on the importance of sharing knowledge.
We at Medtep have walked a long way with the community and look forward to keep improving patients’ and professionals’ life by helping them to share knowledge through our Care Management Platform.
Coinciding with the World Hemophilia Day, we are happy to announce the release of updated native apps of Medtep’s Hemophilia platform and the results of a one-year observational study in Haemophilia journal,
Medtep’s Hemophilia platform, now with native apps
Medtep’s Hemophilia platform helps patients with bleeding disorders, such as Hemophilia A, B or Von Willebrand disease, take the next step towards an improved quality of life. Their daily routine becomes easier with the help of a calendar about the hemophilia and its treatment, complemented with personalization and follow-up from the health care professional (HCP).
Medtep’s new native apps, with enhanced user experience, can be freely downloaded here.
1-year observational study published in Haemophilia Journal
As part of Medtep’s commitment with hemophilia, the study “Effectiveness of the Medtep Hemophilia online platform for adherence to prophylactic treatment in haemophilia patients: Results from a 1-year observational study” was published in the Haemophilia journal some weeks ago. The study shows that the Medtep Hemophilia online platform helped the studied patients with hemophilia to improve their adherence to prophylactic treatment, while increasing their QoL and illness perception, as well as joint arthropathies stabilization.
Medtep Hemophilia platform
With Medtep Hemophilia platform patients not only register their bleeds, reason and location, but they can also indicate how they have treated them. On the other hand, they can better communicate with their health care professionals (HCP) for a continuous monitoring. Patients decide which information they wish to share and the HCP to share it with in order to facilitate the follow-up. Reports, images, and other type of files can be shared both ways. In addition, patients can also grant access to their account to relatives and caregivers.
With Medtep Hemophilia platform, patients manage their own calendar registering infusions and relevant information, such as number of vials and dosage. Also physical activity, reminders and appointments can be registered, in fact, every important event can be planned and tracked, so that the calendar becomes the place to manage all their health. Medtep Hemophilia allows patients to easily confirm or cancel planned events with a fast log section. Everything is kept listed at their event log for self-tracking or sharing with their HCPs.
By tracking, learning from their habits and reviewing their progress, patients can take control of their health, prevent bleeds and ultimately improve their quality of life.
Facilitating healthcare professionals improve their patients’ adherence
With Medtep Hemophilia platform, health care professionals (HCP) can monitor all the occurrences and receive information about their patients, such as bleeds, infusions and physical activity at the right time. HCPs can check all records from the patient as well as access their calendars to track their behavior.
Medtep Hemophilia’s aggregated list of patients with bleeds and infusions gives a fast view of which patients have had severe occurrences and helps identify behavioral and treatment patterns. This list helps HCP optimize their time by prioritizing patients which need them the most based on their condition. Also email alerts can be set up when a bleed occurs in a patient allowing the prioritization of those who need special attention.
Patients’ information can be shared, under their consent, with other HCPs to guarantee a full and coordinated care under a multidisciplinary approach. E.g. hematologists, physiotherapists, psychologists, odontologists, nurses, peers, caregivers, etc.
