Nowadays we have a lot of clothing or complements that we connect to our phones or computers and in return give us information about as much as we walk or how much calories we burn in a day.
With this data we have a comprehensive view of our health status (from a wellness perspective) but with this kind of devices there’s the need to connect them to a phone. Some phones are still not compatible and users don’t have the information at any given time as they need a computer to see their records.
Apple doesn’t want to miss the opportunity to take part of this evolving trend and has understood the need for mobile processors that sense and interpret movement. The company has decided to include a new feature in the Iphone 5S. A coprocessor called M7 that allows the phone to measure data related to motion. It contains an accelerometer, a gyroscope and a compass, among others.

Not only Apple has a device with these specifications. The past week Samsung showed the Galaxy Gear Smart Watch. It is still understood as a complement device for the new Galaxy Note 3 and other Galaxy devices. It has SO Android users can use like Fit bit Flex or Nike+ Fuel Band.
There is the hope that this trend helps set up a tendency towards a real preventive behaviour in users. Those preventive actions can help reduce the statistics on all chronics diseases related to sedentary lifestyles.
